Rivier College, a private Catholic college founded in 1933, has gained a reputation for academic excellence in more than forty programs. The College has adapted to changing needs by developing liberal arts/career-ortaiented programs designed to prepare graduates in many fieldsRivier is a fully accredit institution enrolling approximately 2,300 students in two schools: the School of Undergraduate Studies (which includes an Evening Division) and the School of Graduate Studies
The curriculum is broad-based, with emphasis on preparing students for challenging and rewarding careers and furthering their personal growth. Core curriculum requirements may vary slightly, depending on the degree to be obtained, but generally include courses in the areas of English, mathestudies, social science, and Western civilization. No fewer than ten courses must be taken in the major field. Electives may be chosen according to the student's matics and/or natural sciences, modern language and literature, philosophy, religious interests.Financial aid is awarded on the basis of the financial need of the students and family.Federal aid includes Federal Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants, Federal Perkins Loans, Federal Work-Study Program, and the Federal Stafford Student Loans.
