Columbia State Community College has five convenient campuses and offers more than 50 programs of study. Every year hundreds of students graduate, and either join the workforce in their field or move on to a four-year school. This College offers both online and in-class courses, in both credit and non-credit formats. It is part of the TJCCAA sports association, and has nationally-recognized baseball, softball and basketball teams. The college is also home to popular Middle Tennessee arts venues, such as the Cherry Theatre and the Pryor Art Gallery.
Online Campus is a web based program that faculty use to create Internet, Hybrid, or Web-Enhanced courses. Moreover, faculty can also use Online Campus to communicate with their students in traditional courses. Our Online Campus provides a wide variety of tools and features that can be added to a course to enrich the learning and teaching experience.
As a Columbia State student, you can access Internet classes using any Internet connection, anytime, anywhere. It means 24/7 access allows you to complete assignments, interact with other students in the class through discussions, and communicate with your instructor at your convenience.
Columbia State’s Internet courses are developed and taught by Columbia State instructors. RODP courses are developed and taught by Columbia State instructors and instructors at other TBR colleges. Both charge an additional fee, but the Columbia State fee and tuition is less.
Online Campus may be accessed by going to myChargerNet, logging in with your Columbia State PVT account, and clicking the Online Campus icon. Once you are logged in, you will see your course list. All tests and quizzes are taken online. Some instructors may require students to come to the nearest campus to take online proctored tests or quizzes.
Our internet courses are taught using the Online Campus course management system. Coursework completed within the online learning environment involves lectures, email, discussion boards, testing, file sharing, and group collaboration.
Internet courses require at least as much effort and time as traditional courses, if not more. Since students work primarily on their own without face-to-face contact with instructors, they may not always have regular classroom reminders and clarifications available to students in traditional courses.
